As a result of increased Short Term Vacation Rental complaints and violations during COVID-19 and in an effort to retain the quality of life for La Quinta residents, the La Quinta City Council to authorize a 90-day moratorium on any new permits on Tuesday, 08/05/2020.
The city’s code compliance team reported that 310 new cases of possible violations were opened from April through June – a 267% increase over the 67 filed from January through March – stemming from calls to the STVR hotline.
